It can be annoying to have to switch from one application to another or to convert a multimedia file from one format to another because your player does not support the original format. Exponent Software addresses this annoying situation via its professional multimedia player that provides support for some 50 formats, MediaGun. This user friendly application provides support for video files, text files, audio files, image files, and even applications. It comes with support for JPG, GIF, PNG, TXT, SWF, AVI, DivX, MPG, EXE, PPT, and more.

The minimum system requirements for running MediaGun are: 2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM (2GB recommended), 100MB of free disk space, Windows-compatible sound card, DVD drive, internet connection, Windows operating system (32 or 64-bit editing, anything from XP SP3 onward).

MediaGun first asks you to indicate a folder that contains multimedia files. Once you do so, MediaGun will import the media files and sort them into categories: movies, text, audio, pictures, and apps. Double click any file you want to get a preview; select a file and click the Add button to add the file to the Master List. Take your time to set up the Master List as you see fit; once you’re done, you can save it, export it, or you can run it. When you run it, MediaGun will display all the videos, apps, text, or music you included in the list.

MediaGun provides support for the following formats: AVI, DIVX, DV, FLV, IFO, M1V, M2T, M2TS, M2V, M4V, MKV, MOV, MP4, MP3, MPG, MOTS, SWF, VOB, WMV, XVID, DOC, PDF, TXT, AAC, AC3, AIF, M4A, MID, MP3, MPA, SWA, WAV, WMA, BMP, DIB, GIF, JPG, PCT, PIC, PSD, QTIF, TGA, TIF, EXE, PPS, PPT, PPTX.

Create a Master List that includes all your multimedia content and enjoy watching it in full screen mode.

Pros

The system requirements for running MediaGun aren’t very high. The application provides support for a long list of media formats. Create a Master List that contains all the files you want. Run, save, or export the aforementioned list. A MediaGun video tutorial is available on the application’s official website.

Cons

Free to use for a 15-day trial; nag screen.
